Who is Barbara Broderick (nee McNeill), Realtor®? Like most Realtors® I wear many hats in my life. First and foremost is my family which consists of my wonderful husband and young son. And usually a fish of some sort (a living one at the time I wrote this...). We've lived in Arizona for over 13 years and love the 'Valley of the Sun'. I'm originally transplanted from Canada and my husband from Ireland. Our family are avid hikers and love camping together. Although my husband may say my 'avid sport' is shopping. I may be inclined to say the boys spend too much time playing and watching soccer. My one claim to fame (if you can call it that), was a successful summit of Mount Kilimanjaro with my husband in 1999. It was really a mental challenge as opposed to physical, although the highest peak Kibo is 19,340 feet. And, like most Realtors® - we all had previous careers before Real Estate. I spent over 20 years in the Systems Analysis/Engineering world working for large corporations. I held various positions within the industry and I believe my management and detailed analysis background give me a unique advantage in my business as a Realtor®. I enjoyed my years in the Systems industry, but nothing can compare to running your own business as a Realtor®. My father ran a successful Electrical Contracting company in Edmonton and taught me many valuable lessons. The most important being treat your customers well and your business will prosper. I think every year as a Realtor® has been more enjoyable than the year past. Enjoying your chosen career is of utmost importance to me. You only get once chance at life - make it a good one! |
